Poor Kitty

I feel like that kitty. The cat obviously wants to get away from those scary gourds in the background (which represent Brantford), but the dog (which represents lack of money and planning) are keeping the kitty there. Poor Kitty.

So I had a weird, and boring day today. Work was so slow that I was dusting at work, and wandering around the building. I was on switchboard most of the day, and actually fell asleep at one point and hit my head on the board.. not a good thing lol hopefully I didn't press any important buttons!

I've also decided recently to go back to school. It'll be difficult because I'm not backed by my parents this time, but hopefully I'll work out some kind of loan biz-nass. I told my dad today and he flipped out, not sure why, but he's mental, so who knows what to expect. Anywho, he told me to "f*ck off" and proceeded to hang up on me... so yay for parents lol anyways enough ranting about that, I'll get through it without him and be all the better for it.

Going to Etobicoke for a couple days to visit my pal Steph! SO EXCITED! You rock gurl! We're gonna go on a shopping spree (I've limited myself to $100, but don't tell her that shhhh... and Steph if you're reading this, pretend like you didn't.. shhhh lol).

Had a weird date last weekend.. let's just say I need to find a man soon or I'm going to start going for women lol and that would be just weird. Ah well, got a friend out of it, which is good I spose.

Well, I'm gonna go watch The Mexican (GREAT MOVIE). Lata ya'll!

Movie Review: Dodgeball

THE funniest movie I've ever seen. Go see it NOW!

Synopsis

Peter LaFleur (Vince Vaughn) owns a run down gym, a safe haven for the town's misfits. When he realizes his gym is in jeopardy of closing, and Globo Gym's owner, White Goodman, plans on making his gym into a parking lot for his own corporate and heartless corporation, he and his friends make a decision to enter in a dodge ball tournament in Las Vegas.

...so it's a simple plot. Get over it, it's still hilarious!

Which Characters I Enjoyed

Each character had his or her place in this film. I'm not going to dwell on the characters this time, because they really all were fantastic.

The one who did stand out, however, was Ben Stiller as White Goodman. Stiller always manages to play a different character as hilarious as the last, and this was no exception. I couldn't imagine he could be so drastically different from his role in Zoolander, but he accomplished it, and at times I even forgot it was him. AMAZING!

Why This Movie Kicked Ball

Exactly that. Sexual inuendos and random script features made Dodge Ball a comedy classic. From the tag line that everyone will be saying, "Joanie loves Chachi!", to crazy ramblings by Gordon, played by Stephen Root, this movie was hilarious from start to finish. Patches O'Houlihan (Rip Torn), the team's coach, blurts out crazy profanities which you'd think would be offensive and grotesque, but I was laughing so hard at those alone that my cheeks hurt lol.

Overall

An absolutely remarkable movie, one of the best of the summer. However, they messed up the pirate character in the end... go watch it and you'll know what I mean.

My hair hurts..

Hey ya'll.

So I'm sick. Yippee! lol I'm so bored and so sore all over. It's like the flu or some form of the flu. I feel like I'm dying, it's great fun. And if being sick isn't enough, my parents don't seem to believe I'm actually sick. Meanwhile, I haven't slept in over 36 hours and I look like Casper (only obviously better looking).

*yawn* So yeah, I'm extremely tired, but when I try to sleep, I just lay there, thinking of meaningless things, like "If my cat is in my room and is watching me, does she know I'm asleep, or trying to sleep? Do cats think of things like that? Do dogs?.. Good god my cell phone's bright. It's lighting up the whole room! I wonder how fireflies work? Does the light in a cell phone have anything to do with fireflies?.. Where's my umbrella?" and once I realize I've been thinking like this for over an hour, I get up and watch pointless nighttime television, although Queer as Folk was good last night, surprisingly.

Movie Review: The Stepford Wives

A disappointment at best, I just cannot hide my true feelings about this film any longer. Although I hyped it up, I must now hype it down.

Synopsis

Joanna Eberheart (Nicole Kidman) is a successful television exec who, through certain circumstances, must leave her career. In an attempt to save her marriage with her husband Walter (Matthew Broderick), she moves her and her family to Stepford, a seeminlgly perfect town.

When she tries to make an effort with the local women, she comes to a realization that they are all far too perfect, and something is wrong, either with them, or with herself. She befriends Bobbi Markowitz (Bette Midler), a well known author, and Roger Banister (Roger Bart), a gay architect, who both also notice the strange happenings in Stepford.

As Joanna's friends become unlike themselves and more like Stepford, Joanna begins to compromise her trust in her husband, and her faith in humanity.

Which Characters I Enjoyed

Bette Midler played the part in this film, and fit the part perfectly. A blunt, crude woman who doesn't care to fit in. She would rather change every person in Stepford to be like her than to fit in to their norms. She is one of the only truly funny characters, and the movie would be even more a flop without her.

Glenn Close delivers the best performance that this movie has to offer. She is strong and amazing, and the end of the film shows her at her best.

Which Characters Stank Like Poo

Matthew Broderick, who I was looking forward to watching in a film, seems to have showed that no, he still can't act. He's replaced his cute face from Ferris Buller's Day Off for emotionless, dry "acting". I don't blame him entirely, however. The script wasn't a lot to work with.

What to say about Christopher Walken. He's old. Like, really, really old. And needs to retire. Possibly right away. Cause he can't act anymore. Like, at all. I won't even go into it. He was bad.

Before I Get to "Overall"...
**Caution, my rantings in this section may contain spoilers, if you care!**

So, it has been 15 hours since I saw the film, and I am left with lots of questions. The main one being "Why did they change the ending?" I know they did! You can tell!!! They're robots through the entire film, but in the end, it was just microchips? Then how did the one woman go out of control LIKE A ROBOT? And how did Bette Midler burn her hand and not feel it, LIKE A ROBOT? And how did Faith Hill dispense money from her mouth LIKE A ROBOT? Stupid idiots.

Overall

All in all, I'm extremely disappointed. The more I think of the film, the less I enjoy what I saw. Was it humourous? Sure. Was the humour enough to cover up the horrible script and bad acting by a lot of the stars in this film? Absolutely not.

One thing this film did do for me is want to see the original, made in the 70's. Then maybe I can see what this movie should have looked like. The one thing I did love was the trailer. I watched it like 100 times! It was suspenseful, and the humour in it seemed subdued, like it should have been.

5/10 - I think I'll go watch the trailer...

Workin hard or hardly workin?

Hey ma peeps.

Sorry to my loyal fans who haven't had anything to read and who have been holding their breath for a new post. I allow you to breathe now.

I've just been SO crazy busy with work, which, to everyone's surprise, isn't exactly stimulating. Today I was in "the attic" for three hours, looking for files in an non-air conditioned room. Yay fun lol.. actually I was in there for about 45 mins and then I did dick all walking around the building with another student employee lol. Hey, if I do my work "too fast" (according to ppl at work), I deserve to walk around. Yep.

The weekend after next, I'm on my way to Etobicoke to visit that sexy biotch Stephy! I was sposeda go to Kingston next weekend to visit my pal Georgio, but he's going to England! Well la de daa lol.. but as for this weekend, I'm going to see The Stepford Wives! I have been looking forward to this for so long, and even tho there are other movies coming out too, Stepford looks amazing, and I can't wait. The announcer lady said she hated it, and the movie sucks. I took her opinion into consideration for a few seconds, then realized she's from Brantford.

Anyways, gotta get to bed lol ciao!
